
Commercialisation of next1 inverter-charger
Studer new single-phase, smart inverter-charger for offgrid and grid-tied applications is now available for orders. Next1 6500-48 is a new addition to the “next” product range that will be completed in the coming years.
Throughout 2024 Studer Innotec team has been working non-stop on the new next1 inverter-charger to provide a “highly stable and reliable hardware and software version to fulfil all offgrid autarky and ongrid applications” asserts Yann Cuenin (CTO of Studer). Moreover, the software of this device will be evolutive and updated with new features.
This reliability was validated with prototypes and a presales phase with multiple units being already in the fields. Now orders can be taken for this fully validated and tested device.
The robust offgrid inverter made for ongrid
The next1 is the heritage of 38 years of experience: A robust inverter-charger designed for offgrid and compatible with grid codes to work ongrid for solar and storage solution with full backup capability.
During the tests, the next1 showed exceptional capabilities. It works even in a 60°C ambient environment. At 45°C, the unit delivers 80% of its nominal power! Robustness and reliability that made the reputation of Studer were put at the core of this development.
Applications
With a flexible design, the next1 is made to fit multiple kind of systems.
In offgrid, the next1 is the ideal inverter-charger for solar and hybrid (with diesel genset) systems. In that field reliability is everything and TCO (total cost of ownership) of an energy system is more impacted by the problems during the life of the system than the initial price of components; experienced installers know that very well and choose Studer for that reason. The next1 can be installed with separate solar chargers in DC-coupling (all elements are connected to the DC of the battery) or with AC-coupling with a solar inverter (next1 and inverter are connected with the AC line). The possibility of combining multiple next1 in 3 phased and parallel configuration allows to build systems up to 58kVA.
In grid connected applications, you can get the maximum out of your renewable energy system by adding storage and backup. Owners are always surprised to learn that in case of blackout, their solar installation will stop working, even if it is during the day with sun shining. The next1 allows to work in a backup with the existing solar installation with AC-coupling. This is especially interesting for a retrofit of existing single-phase solar systems on which the installation is straight forward.
Exceptional technical features
The next1 6500-48 is available today and the model 4500-48 is coming soon: nx1-6500-48 and nx1-4500-48 having 6500VA and 4500VA 30minutes power. It features:
- Environnement: IP65, 80% of nominal power at 45°C ambient.
- Peak power in offgrid: 2.5x nominal power surge power
- The special AC flex connection that can be freely configured to connect a genset or be a second controllable and monitored output.
- Parallel and three phased operation up to 9 units.
- Connectivity: all options included: communication to batteries, to internet, Wi-Fi.
- Your smartphone replaces the optional interface.
- Free monitoring: detailed online webportal and APP with storage of data in EU
